Mosaic Fusion

I was recently asked to design and produce a collection of furnishing fabrics as part of a freelance project. I looked at trends for A/W12 and through inspiration and design-research decided upon the theme 'Mosaic Fusion', fusing together elements of florals and mosaics. Cultural elements within this project were taken from inspirational photographs from Deli and Marrakesh.

Luminous tropics

For my end of year degree show collection I decided to design and produce a series of repeats for Women’s-wear S/S 2011/12 utilising the theme: ‘Luminous Tropics’ I wanted this collection to be bold, vibrant and daring, taking inspiration from Paul Smith and ETRO.

Irwin & Jordan 2010

'Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication' - Leonardo da Vinci
Competition brief set by London label (Irwin & Jordan) in 2010.

My inspiration for this project was taken form architecture and lace, drawing from direct observation and from my own photographs. Milan's Furniture Fair 2010, and the lace archive at NTU in particular inspired me most. I chose to look at simplistic geometric shapes and interesting ways in which to put them into repeat.

Technical processes used were digital prints created through the aid of CAD. My colour pallet consisted of a variety of pastel and neutral shades as well as rustic browns, gold and bronzes.

Abercrombie & Fitch; Competitive edge menswear collection A/W 2011

For a competition brief I was set in October 2010  I decided to produce a collection of menswear garments whilts utilising the theme Competitive Edge.

The brief set by Abercrombie & Fitch, was to design 3-4 repeats and  2 Plaid packages; 1 that embodies the brand executed in multiple colour ways, and 1 eclectic package; a group of different plaids (scales and colour ways) that sit well together for A/W 2011 .

With my chosen theme I decided to reflect the competitive nature of hunting and sports, looking at Native Americans, Hunting, and American sports, whilst taking a new and innovative approach through techniques and style; looking at distressing and manipulating my designs and fabrics.
Ensuring that I was incorporating the heritage and brand of A&F within my designs was a challenge but one that I enjoyed overcoming.

I used various methods of design which include laser cutting, digital printing and manual screen printing.
